Voted “Best Dentist” for more than 20 years in Washingtonian magazine for excellence in general and cosmetic dentistry, Washington DC cosmetic dentist and board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Daniel Deutsch, is highly revered. He receives national acclaim for mastery in appearance-related dentistry, with exquisite smile makeovers, where he uses his expertise in placing veneers, crowns and implants.

He is also highly sought after for his expertise in 21st Century, “All-On-Four-Teeth-in-a-Day” permanent implant technique for patients with missing teeth or dentures. “Nothing is more rewarding than hearing a patient say, “Now I have my smile back, and can eat whatever I want. I even feel great smiling for photos!” Studying with top specialists in his field, Dr. Deutsch stays ahead of the latest advances in smile makeovers and restorative dentistry. And that includes a strong emphasis on the oral-systemic link.

"In the past, dentistry was all about fixing what was broken,” he says. “Now, high-tech advances like lasers, scanners and 3D X-Ray help us focus on the ‘oral health-body health’ connection. Thanks to mounting scientific research, we now know that harmful bacteria that live around teeth cause dangerous inflammation and raise serious risk. These findings reveal how oral bacteria have body-wide consequences, including heart attacks, strokes and Alzheimer’s. We consider this a medical condition with a dental solution.”

Dr. Deutsch says new saliva testing and other new “protective” protocols and therapies identify and treat harmful oral bacteria. “Our patients get that, and they expect us to help them stay healthy—and keep their teeth for life,” he says.

Dr. Deutsch is also a highly regarded Invisalign-certified dentist, having successfully designed at least 1,000 exquisite, straighter new smiles—all achieved with Invisalign’s gentle, innovative tooth-movement technology. “We have grown with Invisalign’s advancing technology, changing smiles in ways never before possible,” he says.

Dr. Deutsch also specializes in creating custom mouth guards, which he’s done for the Washington Wizards basketball team since 2009. In addition, Dr. Deutsch is skilled in sports dentistry, where he focuses on protection from and prevention of injuries to players’ mouths.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Dr. Deutsch is a graduate of and received his dental degree from the esteemed State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry. Throughout his education and career, Dr. Deutsch has trained with some of the top dentists in the field to further his knowledge.

Attending many lectures, workshops and continuing education courses each year keeps Dr. Deutsch at the forefront of a corps of general and cosmetic dentists who practice at the “master” level of dentistry. He is a student at the prestigious Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Seattle, Washington and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Care in Northern Virginia. Dr. Deutsch is also a host for international dentists to teach them about advances in the American dental community and he hosts some of the most prestigious institutions for advanced dental education.
