It is said that a smile is a reflection of a person’s identity and soul. Smiles lift people when they are down. They make the world a better place to be. It is with that knowledge and understanding, that helped lead Dr. Michael Longlet to the field of dentistry.

Dr. Mike has had a lot of experience as a dental patient. When he was in second grade, he got his expander, then brackets. Dr. Mike had teeth extracted to make space for orthodontics, and eventually, graduated to braces. Despite all of this, he always enjoyed seeing his dentist. Dr. Mike’s uncle also happened to be a dentist. His positive experiences led him to shadow his dentist and his uncle, where he saw how much enjoyment they had while working. Dr. Mike realized how they touched people’s lives, which forever changed him. In tenth grade, Dr. Mike knew he wanted to be a dentist.

Dr. Mike graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He then attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry to receive his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Wanting to advance his education, Dr. Mike then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Dr. Mike is passionate about helping his patients achieve satisfaction with their smiles. He loves every part of the process, from talking with patients to understanding the mechanics of their mouths as well as restoring and enhancing their oral health functionally and esthetically.

Dr. Mike and his wife, Dr. Chelsea, are committed to providing patients with a state of the art experience. They believe in innovation and heavily invest in continuing education courses (Spear, Kois, Cerec, Sleep Apnea) and updates to their technology to deliver upon that commitment.

Red Wing, Minnesota born and raised, Dr. Mike likes to talk to people to build a relationship. Ask him anything related to the outdoors. He has particular interests in biking, fishing, kayaking, skiing, and running. The ability to invest the time to get to know a patient is an essential characteristic of a good dentist.

When not working, Dr. Mike loves to run for miles in the wilderness. He also enjoys downhill mountain biking, which is one of the main reasons he and his wife, Dr. Chelsea, moved to Bend in 2016. He also likes fly fishing, alpine skiing, and XC skiing.

Fun Fact: Dr. Mike was voted class tree hugger in high school.
