Dr. Nielson Ashton grew up in the Millcreek area and lives about five minutes from our practice. He has struggled his entire life with the gift of two last names and now simply goes by Niel. He graduated from Olympus High School and was a part of their wrestling team. He went on an LDS mission to Haiti and has returned several times on humanitarian trips to perform dentistry for the people there. He did his undergrad at Brigham Young University and went to dental school at Temple University in Pennsylvania. When he returned to Utah, he did a one-year residency at the University of Utah where he received additional training in implants, wisdom teeth removal and bone grafting. He has been practicing for over 6 years and has two dental practices; Smart Dental Care in Holladay and Westways Dental in West Valley City.
Dr. Ashton and his wife, Kirsten, have been blessed with a beautiful little girl named Aurora. They enjoy traveling and the outdoors. Dr. Ashton is very handy and loves restoring old trucks.
He takes pride in his work and is a great dentist. He continues to update the offices with the latest technology and endeavors to have a cutting edge practice. He truly cares about the well-being of his patients and takes great care of his staff. He is a hands-on dentists and regularly follows-up with patients after procedures to be sure they are well. He aspires to make his mark in dentistry by creating a legacy of exceptional dentistry with a personal gentle touch and an office that is trustworthy and treats it’s patients like family.
