Dr. Travis was born in Seattle, Washington and was raised in the Shelton/Olympia area. He joined his father’s dental practice in 2005 and is excited to be a part of the Shelton community. Dr. Hackney received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Travis was then fortunate enough to attend one of the best dental schools in the nation, the University of Washington. He received excellent training from a world class institution and has gained invaluable training from his mentor, Dr. Bob Hackney. Experience is an asset in any profession; Travis is very fortunate to have the 42 clinical years his father has under his belt as a resource.
Travis desires to treat all of his patients as if he was caring for his own family. He hopes that all patients understand their treatment and feel comfortable at Hackney Family Dentistry. Dr. Hackney is up-to-date on the latest dental therapies and can provide patients with cutting edge treatment options. Travis continues to improve his skills by attending some of the best continuing education courses and study clubs around the country. He has focused some of this training on more advanced procedure such as implant therapy and root canals. Dr. Hackney works with a team of specialists who help guide treatment planning and ensure great results.
Travis and his wife Katie have three sons, Owen, Cole, and Blake. These boys are very active and keep mom and dad on their toes. Family life is very busy with the boys playing football and soccer. When time allows Travis enjoys skiing and golfing.
