Dr. Carson is a native of Kershaw. He is a graduate of Clemson University and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. He served honorably in the US Air Force and has been in private practice in Camden since. He is married to the former Sybil Bell of Kershaw and they have three children, Cameron, Welsh, and Nancy, and five grandchildren.
Professional Memberships
Dr. Carson is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Sumter County Dental Society, and the South Carolina Academy of Implant Studies. He has served as president of The Pee Dee Dental Society and The Kershaw County Dental Society. He is a board member of the Community Medical Clinic and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well as the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Carson has been very active in arranging school screenings and care for indigent students by members of the Kershaw County Dental Society.
Community Activities
Over the years Dr. Carson has been involved in many civic endeavors. He is past president of the Camden Rotary Club, past president of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Camden Country Club, past V. P. of the Camden Jaycees, and past chairman of Kershaw County IPTAY. He was on the founding board of the Kershaw Center, The Each One Teach One program, and the Camden Tree Foundation. Dr. Carson is an elder at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. He enjoys golf, Clemson sports, and tending Sybil's horse farm.
