My name is Padmaja. I come from a family of physicians and surgeons; my dad was a surgeon. Mom was a retired gynecologist. One of my brother is Urological Surgeon in New Zealand, and the other is a physician at Charlotte, North Carolina. I chose to be a dentist because I always wanted to be different and was fascinated by the dexterity and precision required to work in as small a space as the oral cavity. I never once regretted my last 25 years as a dentist and in the prior 8 years as a dental school student.
Skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional patient care. As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship. I lend a keen ear to my patients; for what they say and how they feel forms the basis for our enduring collaboration.
Over the years I developed the skill set to put patients of most age groups at ease. Both children and seniors alike are comfortable in my dental chair. This level of comfort with most age groups is the reason behind my establishing a family dental practice.
I trained for 8 years in India to become a Prosthodontist before moving to the United States to join my husband, who was then a graduate student at a business school in the north east. I completed all my dental licensing requirements in Minnesota and practiced there for 2 years. I moved to California in 2005 and immediately began practicing as a dentist after getting licensed here. I also had additional training in Dental Sleep Medicine and earned my Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2020.
I am a fully invested citizen of Bakersfield, living here since 2005 with my husband and son. I own my home and now my dental office right here in town. I actively give to our community and devote time to its progress.
A trained classical dancer for 8 years during my childhood, I enjoy all forms of dance and music. I usually re-charge myself by doing one of cooking, gardening or traveling.
